Look What I See

¡Ah, Mira Lo Que Veo!

First in English:

Safety is paramount, especially safety for children and pets. Our focus combines technology, specifically electronics, with both convenience and comfort. Most will see this as a problem for online activities, especially since we have so little control. But there are many other examples of electronics actually contributing to safety and convenience. For example, there are electronic products you can buy from Americas-Pet-Store.com to help manage your pet, such as automated dog doors, that permit your dog to open the door instead of you. These automated entryways contribute obviously to convenience, but also to safety in that your pet can enter the house to assist you, or to avoid harm from other animals. Pets are actually a worthy target for electronics manufacturers – think of shock collars and electronic fences, used for both training and safety. So when one thinks of safety, don’t think primarily, or only of dangers related to online sites that children need to be protected from. Think about all the wonderful dogs and cats that can benefit from modern technology, even as that same technology makes our lives more convenient (and safe).

Or consider the devices created to keep small children safe from drowning in a back yard pool. Recently I went to my local Hudson Valley pools dealer to see what type of pool safety equipment they carried. Of course, all pools should be fenced, but the weakest link in the fence is the gate and it should be alarmed. Any gate which allows young children easy access to a pool area should have a gate alarm. This is exactly what I needed. The Poolguard Gate Alarm I purchased could be used on any gate, outside door or screen giving access to the pool. And the alarm does not allow someone to accidentally leave the pool gate open for children to wander through. I also picked up a Pool Eye Universal Alarm that is fully compatible with A.S.T.M. F2208 Standards and works in both in ground and above ground pools detecting objects over 15 lbs. The Pool Eye Universal offers ultimate pool side protection and features immersion, voice prompts, magnetic Key for activating or resetting, and an in-home remote unit that receives signals up to 100’ away, and can be used with multiple pool alarms. Great little unit. Let us know what other devices or strategies you use to keep your children and / or pets safe.
